Oh, well. (And thanks for including my blog on your list of diabetes blogs!)Pubsgalhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05636089392777186992noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8054482056966766289.post-83167972933535032152008-09-02T02:37:00.000-07:002008-09-02T02:37:00.000-07:00You said:"At least I'm no longer lying about my dr...You said:
"At least I'm no longer lying about my driver's license weight anymore!"

And I thought I was the only one who did that!

:)jimpurdy1943@yahoo.comhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12974301744118775363noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8054482056966766289.post-55494546833899761712008-08-27T11:48:00.000-07:002008-08-27T11:48:00.000-07:00On the other hand, I just read that caffeine might...On the other hand, I just read that caffeine might have been the culprit. Mayo clinic's web site had a q&a topic about this. http://www.mayoclinic.com/health/blood-sugar/AN01804 The ADA web site also has an article about this topic. (http://www.diabetes.org/diabetes-research/summaries/lee-caffeine.jsp)
Good thing Good Earth makes a caffeine-free variety, although their tea still has only 16mg/8 oz. cup. (Which is what I usually drink, but yesterday they had the caffeinated version in the breakroom at work.) And you know, last Friday I had a jump after drinking a double latte the other day which I thought was only due to the milk, but may have been a combination of the carbs in the milk and the jolt of caffeine. I'll definitely be watching my caffeine from now on!Pubsgalhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05636089392777186992noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8054482056966766289.post-61952713023918983962008-08-27T11:06:00.000-07:002008-08-27T11:06:00.000-07:00There's a sign on the front door of a restaurant i...There's a sign on the front door of a restaurant in our area (Max's Opera Cafe) that says, "This is a good place for a diet./This is a bad place for a diet." They need to slap that sign on the front of Whole Foods, too! Lately, it's been a helpful place, because I know that if I'm short on veggies in my lunch, I can always find some there.

I drink a lot of Good Earth tea, so I seriously doubt that it spikes. (Actually, I found an article on Science Daily about tea helping regulate blood glucose. University of Massachusetts Amherst (2008, April 3). Red Wine, Tea, May Help Regulate Blood Sugar In Type 2 Diabetics, Research Suggests. ScienceDaily. Retrieved August 27, 2008, from http://www.sciencedaily.com /releases/2008/04/080402212428.htm)

I'll have to figure out how to put it to the test, though there's no sugar in it, so I wouldn't think it would be a problem. I have a friend, though, who says that even consuming artificial sweeteners causes her to spike. So far, no problems in that area for me. (whew!)Pubsgalhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05636089392777186992noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8054482056966766289.post-83117544205702700152008-08-27T10:22:00.000-07:002008-08-27T10:22:00.000-07:00I love Good Earth tea.
